Let’s Grow Together! Infant & Childhood Partnerships CLG

A collaboration with Let’s Grow Together to support ACE awareness by providing facilitated screenings of the award-winning documentary, “Resilience: The Biology of Stress & the Science of Hope.”

“What is lovely about these facilitated screenings is that there is no agenda. This isn’t about skills development but simply, awareness. We are left with feelings and thoughts about how we might do things differently and what changes we might make. It’s like opening a window or placing a lens that might align our approach or thinking differently so that we can be more empathic to ourselves and others.”

Manager, Let’s Grow Together

Our collaboration with Let’s Grow Together Infant & Childhood Partnerships CLG (formerly known as Young Knocknaheeny Area Based Programme) continues.

We have provided five free and facilitated screenings to date of the award-winning documentary, ‘Resilience: The Biology of Stress & the Science of Hope’ to date.

Our goal is to raise awareness of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and the positive impact that supportive relationships have on those who have experienced adversity in childhood. The safe and facilitated nature of our screenings offers opportunities for attendees to absorb the information, think about its relevance in their work and to explore the ways in which they can support individuals and families by building positive relationships with them.

Attendees to date have been multidisciplinary practitioners who support the Knocknaheeny catchment area of Cork City. These have included community family support teams, speech & language therapists, early years professionals, healthcare and allied professionals, teachers and representatives from the Traveller Visibility Group.
